Wedding Venues in Lancaster
So you are getting married in lancaster? Great, hopefully you have found a great local Lancaster Wedding Photographer.
Now to the subject of the weding venue. In my opinion one of the most romantic and picturesque wedding venues in the whole of Lancashire is..Ashton memorial!
As a Lancashire wedding photographer Ashton makes my job incredibly easy, it is an amazing place, and can often be over looked in favour of big Lakeland weddings. Not that there is anything wrong with getting married in the Lake district its just that Ashton memorial in willaimsons park is such an amazing wedding venue.

Setting your wedding date
So he finally popped the question......and you said "I do".
Congratulations, there must be a thousand thoughts running through around your head!
The first thing you need to do before anything else, is to settle on the date, but that may be more difficult than you think.
The date that you choose to get married is extremely important; it will stay with you for the rest of your lives. You may wish to choose a date that is special to one of you, or it could be one of your parents or Grandparents wedding date, or how about the day you first met your Fiancée?
Just keep in mind a couple of things. first of all think about the time of the year that you want to get married, do you want a cool winter wedding or a warmer summer wedding, (I adore autumn weddings, the lighting at that time of the year is amazing and makes for stunning wedding photographs), next thing you may want to consider is the wedding venue, if you absolutely must have a certain venue then there is no point setting a date until you know that they are not already booked.
Other things to consider are important family dates, for instance birthdays etc. Ensure that the VIPs off your guest list are not away on holiday.
Next, (and this is an important one) make sure that there are not any major sporting events on that day, sounds crazy I know, but the last thing you want during the wedding vows is half your guests leaving to go to an adjacent room to check the latest footy score.
Have fun planning your wedding day!

Advent Calender
Be sure to check out my blog for a daily dose of wedding tips, whether you are a bride getting married in Lancaster or travelling to some exotic wedding destination, you will appreciate the daily morsels designed for brides everywhere.
You see today was the day that my kids ran in delight to their advent calenders, and it struck me that right now all they are focussed on is counting down to that big day, that has got to be how it is for all you brides out there, there is so much to do from choosing a wedding photographer to getting the best venue, and all of this has to be done in a finite space of time. Sure when the question first gets popped you must be thinking that there is loads of time, and i bet that at first it feels that way, but somewhere along the line will come the realisation that the balance between the time available and the things left to do has slipped.

Choosing your Photographer
There are so many different things to organize when you get married, everyone says that the first thing that should get sorted out are the photographer and the venue. Here are a few tips:
Get Googling
One of the best places to start your search is the web, carefully choose your search terms, for instance in my neck of the woods you would type "Lancaster wedding photographer". Putting your search in "inverted commas" means that you wont drag up sites that have the words, Lancaster and wedding and photographer somewhere on the site. Using the commas means that you only identify sites where Lancaster wedding photographer is strung together as a sentence.
Visit each photographers website. Carefully review his or her portfolio. Try to concentrate on the quality of the images, don't let fancy websites fool you. The most important thing to consider are the images. Do they convey what it is that you are after. Keep clicking dig deep down into the site and make sure that the photographer is consistent.
Get in Touch
Now is the time to ring or e mail, (My e mail address at Kevin Lindeque Photography is kevantlin@yahoo.com). You can start sorting the wheat from the chaff, by a simple means of elimination, consider budget, photo style (mine sways toward reportage), availability and above all do they feel right, do you think that you can get on with them, after all they will share one of your most memorable days with you.
Get to meet them
Now that you have a shortlist of wedding photographers, get to meet them. I normally meet somewhere mutually convenient, we would normally meet in Lancaster or i could come to yours. It is important that both the bride and groom attend. Think of all your questions beforehand, write them down if necessary and don't be afraid to ask.
